HI Jamie, This was brought up a year ago and there are some issues with having a download count on books. IT was never stated exactly why they couldn't. I thought it was a good idea for the reason you stated and it could also serve as a motivation for volunteers, to know how desired the books they are scanning are. I tend to do a lot of books that are a bit off the main stream and it would be nice to see if there are others that are reading them.
