Well, I have just succeeded in submitting a book. Whatever was going on, there
is now a thank you message after the process completes.

I have to agree. I just made my first try to submit a book and have no idea
whether it went through or not. Just to make sure, how and/or where can I find
out the current procedures for uploading and how do I know whether the upload
was successful. The book in question was Coulter's Guilty.
  Thanks.

I like the new site for many of its features and smoother operation.

However, like others, I have a few grumbles.

Like just being dumped back on the check in page after uploading a
validated (proofread) book. I agree with Evan, it is not the thank you
that I miss, it is the lack of any indication that the upload was
    completed correctly that bothers me.

Also, maybe because of the site being down for a few days, to extend the
time we had our books out for validation, the book will expire in two
days email was turned off. But, it hasn't been turned back on because I
(and at least several others on the list) are not getting those emails.

Also, several people on the list have had problems with searches with
books recently. So have I. I seem to remember that on the old site, I
could put in any two or three words from a long title in any order and
it would find the right book (along with a few that were close). Now,
it seems that the only way to get correct results from the search is to
have exactly the right words in exactly the right order. For example,
to find "Dewey the small-town library cat that touched the world," if
you put in "Dewey cat," you get nothing found. If you put in "library
cat," because the words are in the right order the book is found. This
is a very finicky search program. I do like the search box being in the
same place on nearly every page, though.

Ok, I've done my grumbling for the day, so now I can say I really like
the book, submitter, validator history functions.
