My thinking is that, if bookshare staff perceived this as a problem, they
should presented the perceived problem to us volunteers and asked us for
input.  I'm a little insulted that it wasn't even put on the table for
discussion.

I would find designating some people as "expert" rather insulting.  I've
been a volunteer for 10 years now.  I think I'm fairly "expert".  I'm just
not part of the hold-for clique on a regular basis.
