Today I was trying to validate a couple of books that had set on the list for quite a while. One was being returned as there was an issue of international copyright. I looked at who the submitter was, and found out it was someone I knew and who I had their email address. It made it easier, that I could email and ask if they had scanned the book in the U.S. and if they knew if the book had an international copyright. Am still waiting back. But it is was wonderful to know who had submitted the book. Some of the books as you edit them, there may be questions, about them, and all the submitter says is "A bookshare volunteer" this can be really frustrating as you can't tell who submitted it. It could be someone on this list or not. I understand the issues of privacy and not allowing your email address with submissions, but... in the case above it really came in handy. I have always listed my name and email address with my submissions and have gotten a lot of Thank yours over the years or requests for other books by the same author. Just a late night observation.
