[bksvol-discuss] Re: More on validation of books and rtf format

Amy, it is OK to submit a book in KEZ; when it has been validated,
then it must be returned in RTF. If you have downloaded the book from
Bookshare (which is how you get it to your computer), you can receive
it in kez and correct it in kez if you wish; then it must be converted
to rtf format. The return of the book is uploading the validated copy
to Bookshare. That copy can only be returned in RTF format. While that
book is being submitted as a validated copy back to Bookshare, that is
not the same as submitting a book. I think you might be confusing
submitting with the final upload. You upload when you submit a scanned
book; that can be in any of those formats listed. You upload when you
return the book. That has to be in an rtf format.

I got that too and will still try again to upload in .kes before
converting
to rtf as it is still easier to do the final checks in .kes. I wrote
Bookshare asking about this since the site clear says .kes is an
acceptable
format for submissions. I have not gotten a reply and will send this
to the
Bookshare address - maybe someone will decide what is allowed or not
and
where or when or why or . . . .
