Hi all, I am very sorry about this. I would love to fix things like this, especially since it makes reading Bookshare books more difficult for some people. I would also love to fix an author’s spelling errors and awkward sentences, but unfortunately we can’t. I have forwarded your concerns and thoughts to the Collection Development Manager. It’s an awful mess with JAWS and an even worse mess in Braille. I’ll add a couple more pleases to Netta’s here! I am a JAWS user and also use it to read books as well and what JAWS just read on your example was a complete mess. JAWS reads the lower case a as ah and then reads the other capitalized letters individually. This would very hard to explain to someone who doesn't use JAWS but the person who does we would have to go back and read the word by character and figure out what the word actually is. If I came across a book like, I would definitely stop all manner of trying to read it. I know that we are suppose to "follow" what is written the printed book but in this case...I hope that Madeleine will allow the change because to the visually impaired and blind reader...it is NOT a pretty sight. *smile* Best of luck, Netta "Just because you are blind does not mean you lack vision"-Stevie Wonder
