I'm seeing I can'gt type in this message. Oh, well.

Well, I think what happens is people read these again and again
messages that cause confusion. If I don't need to know right now, I
don't read them anymore. <Giggle>

Hi Cindy!

You're awesome too. The stripper is just a pain. It can
only remove headers if they are exactly uniform, that includes amount
of white space on the line containing headers. I'd vote for doing
away with the stripper altogether, but if I remember and understand
properly, it is necessary for creating the ncx file in the daisy
books which is the part of the file that tells the daisy reader how
to number the pages of a book. My guess is that is why it hasn't
been done away with before now.

I'd be thrilled if the volunteer manual would contain a
section entitled something like "How To Preserve Formatting of Your
Book, Where Possible." This section would include instructions as to
how and why foiling the stripper is desirable.

You're right, things oughtn't be so complicated. But, alas, they are
sometimes. It certainly is frustrating when the same ground has to
be covered again and again, and confusion caused again and again.

Just commiserating.

Peace,
Mayrie
