frame when issues will be resolved however I have to keep contacting them
to push the case Ford and tell me they were going to escalate it again that
is what they toad me
I hope everyone has a good day.

Hello this is Chris
I tried talking to Microsoft disability answer desk and I was talking about
Microsoft Word not working with voiceover and they tried some things which
did not fix the problem so escalated 2 level 2 support but they got my
phone number wrong and so claiming that I was not home to answer the phone
they had the phone number down wrong I never call me back the second time.
I had to call them about and I finally got someone to fix the phone number
on file they still weren't able to Richmond so I has them wrote down my
mobile number which they were able to HD sucessfully this week I have been
escalator multiple times for this case.
I am being escalated to level 3 support and they have not called me back
since they tell me 24 hours ago if they would call me today that was
Thursday this week.
I can not get any thing done that required draft View I cannot use word at
this time so I have not been able to do any Bookshare task because of word
not working with voiceover I hope they get this issue resolved soon I would
prefer to get this working so that I can do things and not be waiting for
them to fix this problem which they have escalated me several times this is
pretty much what is been happening they also had me on install and
reinstall office that didn't help either.
I thought you all might want a update on the word for Mac problem with
voiceover.
I will try to reach out to Microsoft disability answer desk and the office
team for Mac hopefully get this issue resolved.
I hope everyone's having a good day and evening.
This is not voiceover does not work with office however I am kind of
annoyed that they are not being very quick about trying to get this fixed

FWIW, Sandi, sadly you used to be able to export from Pages in RTF format,
but I found it to not always retain blank lines or it doubled them at other
times.  You can still double convert; exporting in Word format and then to
RTF in word, but that is obviously very kludgy. Sadly I do not know about
Word interfacing with  VoiceOver, but the accessibility team might be able
to help with that.  I don’t know when they removed the export to RTF from
Pages, but it is a huge loss…

Thanks!

Hi Chris,

I have a new MacBook Pro, and am not proofreading with it yet, but intend
to. The issue for me is the long learning curve learning the keyboard
shortcuts for MacOS Sierra along with all the keyboard shortcuts for
Voiceover—etc. I very much intend in the future to use the MacBook to
proofread. In the month I have been learning the MacBook, I have not found
a single instance in which Voiceover doesn’t work with their own apps.
Office for the Mac may be a different case because it  is not initially
produced for the Mac. I’d definitely call Microsoft’s disability desk. They
are the people most likely to have answers for you at this time. And please
share with us when you find the answer. I had thought I might use TextEdit,
which automatically saves in RTF, but making the font changes, etc., is way
too labor intensive. In Pages, you can create a beautiful perfect
document,, but you can’t save it in RTF. Sigh!

Sandi

Hello this is Chris
Does anyone use the Mac to proofread?
If anyone knows what program do you use for proofreading?
It turns out that voiceover does not read in draft.
I tried piping in Word m print View and did not work and I also tried it
in draft View with no results I can see the screen enough to know what the
words it is putting on the screen but trying to read lots of words is very
difficult out voiceover to help with the punctuation since I have to use
magnification.
I opened a file that I created using ABBYY Fine reader pro Fort Mac end
the file was assessable in Princeville with plain text but not with the
table of contents it treated it as a field but instead of plain text that
took some Googling to fix the formatting the table of contents that is what
I think I heard so far.
I have talked to Apple and Microsoft Apple says that my settings are
correct 4 voiceover to read back text they suggested me to call Microsoft
they were not very much help however I have not called Microsoft disability
answer desk see what they would have to say.
Any help would be great Target
