Hey Cindy, I think you are doing an awesome job, smile. Typos and all. I know we were really worried about you when we didn't hear from you and am glad that things are settling into a rhythm. It is going to take time, smile but I know you will go at it, attack it and keep going, as you always do, smile.

My pleasure. It's interesting. I started describing the illustrations but as they're just photos of the soldiers, both as youngsters aand as older men, I'm not going to continue. The book will then go more quickly. And the other two I have I think will go fairly quickly. The one I just finished was hideous. Because the missing pages were in italics and in some cases formatted as poetry and didn't scan, I typed them in. Good therapy for me, but very slow, as I had to read very carefully and type very slowly. Even hen I missed hitting the right key and instead hit the one next to it.

Quick Explanation for you newcomers. I had a *very* mild stroke--which has had some mild effects--nothing serious. I was *very* lucky--but if you've noticed a lot of typos in my posts that's why.

Cindy, I'm looking forward to reading
that Medals of Honor recipients book eventually, too.
Thank you again for taking over proofreading it, when I
couldn't. smile.

Just saw a new book come into the collection on the Horse
Soldiers (U.S. Unit that won over the war lords in
Afghanistan). Can't wait to read that one
either. One of my friends is a USMC Cobra pilot that
was part of that action, and he sent me some amazing
photographs at the time from Afghanistan. One is of a
group of American soldiers and Afghan fighters, all on
horseback and wearing Afghan robes. One of the
soldiers is using a Toughbook laptop identical to the one I
use and a laser sight to guide in a Naval fighter pilot's
strike against a Taliban unit. It portrays an amazing
contrast between the traditional horse mounted unit in
desert garb coordinating with and using state-of-the-art
airborne weapons systems for support.
