I wondered that, too, Elizabeth, whenI saw it. I
looked it up. The emphasis os on the second syllable,
to my surprise, and it means "having a malignant
influence." Synonyms are "malicious" and :baleful." I
originally thought that someone (was it Guido or
Pratic who used it -- it had to be one of them, grin)
meant maleficient and just forgot to write the rest of
the word.
