[bksvol-discuss] Re: M dashes and fonts

Hi Sue,

Wow, we had a big miscommunication. I always heard the words dash and
hyphen used interchangeably. Fortunately, it doesn't matter any more, since
we don't need to convert em dashes to anything at all any more. Whew!

Mayrie

Hi Mayrie,

In the days when I took dictation on the dictaphone, if someone said dash,
they meant two hyphens, not one hyphen. If they said hyphen, they meant one
hyphen, not a dash, which was two hyphens. Thus, I do not understand what
you mean when you say we were never told to convert M-dashes to dashes.
(smile)

Sue S.
