It might be worth letting new volunteers know that there is a more general discussion list where books and many other topics can be discussed. I understand that it is a fairly high traffic list.
Someone from that list might be better able to provide the means for subscribing to that list.

If the traffic gets too heavy here, we may have people sign up, read or try to keep up with the list for two or three days, then unsub. If they unsub, they may attempt to submit or to proof books without help and without guidance.
