It might be worth letting new volunteers know that there is a more general discussion list where books and many other topics can be discussed. I understand that it is a fairly high traffic list.

Someone from that list might be better able to provide the means for subscribing to that list.

Hi all,

Yes, I think we need a more vigilant listowner. I realize this is a difficult and sometimes unrewarding job, but somebody's got to do something. I saw at least ten messages from one person, six of which had the same subject line. I also saw the off-topic messages. Some of them were interesting, but this list is meant for volunteers who are doing a job. If the traffic gets too heavy here, we may have people sign up, read or try to keep up with the list for two or three days, then unsub. If they unsub, they may attempt to submit or to proof books without help and without guidance. Again, I plead for a more vigilant listowner!

Also the amount of overquoting on this list is absolutely and totally criminal! Folks, these messages are archived. If you overquote, you will stuff the archives to bursting with dross. Please, please, please, please and again, please quit overquoting! *only* requote the lines from the previous email that are necessary to making your point.

I reiterate, could we have a more vigilant listowner!

Ann P.
