Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Links please?

Hi y'all, some oldies, some newbies. Liz Halperin here, now in Portland OR
not Seattle anymore. Shelley, it was great to meet you in person at your
graduation with Gwen. I go back in January for my next dog. E., nice to see
you still here. I remember meeting you at a CSUN conference.

I've been busy submitting all this time but avoided the list due to traffic volume. Signed up last night and overwhelmed already, going to leave again.
BUT, can someone give me links to the wish list, to Jake's stuff whatever
that is. Looks helpful. I've been, as always, just following my own
interests and finding gaps in the collection and filling in. Currently
building a library about transgender issues, will end with about 20 books I
think. Interspersing those with some feminist stuff, some comparative
religions, some Latin. I just check the main search engine and The Books in
Processing Page, didn't know about these others. Obviously I've been off
this list for a few years now! Hahaha!

A couple other things. As a deaf-blind person, the various audio offerings
aren't accessible to me. Does anyone know if Jim's gig was transposed to
print/braille format?

Secondly, my tag team partner who validated all my books for these many
years is no longer a volunteer. I'm looking for a new validator to tag with,
so books don't sit on the wait list forever. Thanks Shannon for just doing
that BSO for me, and Guido is doing another now. But wondering if anyone
wants to team up? The books I upload have already been carefully edited, no
raw scans, they are ready to go. KES ratings usually up at 98% and higher.
That's bec I only scan what I want to read, so I edit as I read, then do all
the checking steps. The stuff I put up rarely needs anything other than a
cursory check. Anyone interested in joining forces to validate? Minimal work
on your end, easy validation credits.

Lastly, since I wasn't on the lists, last year I found out about Gustavo
after all the list people. Does anyone remember the actual date he died? I
found out the day before returning to dog school for new dog, tore me up.
(Shelley, that dog only lasted 2 months at home due to allergies and stress.
Was re-evaluated, almost placed with your class, then retired as the
allergies still present after 2 months back in kennels.) So I don't remember
Gustavo's death anniversary date as I was in transit and such a wreck over
it.... I want to know the date. I miss him terribly, we had an off list
friendship and I want to be sure to light a candle in his honor on the right
day.

That's it. I'm looking forward to responses to all of my questions and
requests. Then I'll sign off the list again.

Liz, still scanning away....
