Hi Lissi, We are not the only ones who have tried with Leprakauns. It had a long list of would-be proofreaders. I hope that someday, it finds a home, so this interesting book can join the collection. When I tried to fix the formatting the pictures moved right on top of the text. I don’t know how to use a screen reader to fix those kinds of visual situations so I released it back to the check out page, too. I appreciate it that someone took the time to scan it, but It looks to me as if in this case most of us can’t proofread it and if it is rejected the scanner could get some tips and rescan it so it can be proofread and approved. Though we don’t reject books at the drop of a hat, it’s sometimes the right thing to do so new scanners can learn how to prepare their scans for Bookshare. Misha, while you’re recuperating, are you in shape to mentor? The volunteer community is in serious need of capable scanners. I know Evan’s not the only one up to his ears in books to scan for eager proofreaders. It sounded like a really good book. However, it had no page breaks, had a bunch of pictures thrown in, and seemed to have a lot else wrong with it. I guess I could have rejected it, but it seemed like a really good book, and a sighted person with access to the print copy could probably do it. I notice that it has been released several times. Has anyone else struggled with it? Do we keep pictures in the book? I didn’t think so. Those I could have deleted, but the book didn’t seem to have a single page break. Thanks, Lisa
