It's not even digital. According to the Amazon product page for that ISBN it is a paperback. I think the problem was that he thought the name of the publisher was unusual and so he was suspicious that it was not really a publisher at all. The book is apparently an indy. That is, it was either self published or published by a vanity publisher and since I don't recognize that publisher name as one of the vanities that I am aware of it was probably self published. When an author does that he often just makes up a publisher name and that publisher may very well publish only that one book. Some very unusual names can come up that way.  That reminds me of something. Back when everyone was so upset that their contributions to the collection were being replaced by publisher quality books someone started a list of books that were not contributing so as to have a safe list. At first I supported that effort and kept finding publisher names to add to the list. Then I realized that it was pointless. there are so many publisher names and imprints and so many indy publishers that might publish one or two books that a complete list could never be compiled and if it ever was it would be incredibly unwieldy. Think of a many volumed version of the NYC phone book.

This is Aidee. From what you said in your original email, and from what Roger
said in response, I don't think your book will be replaced by a publisher
quality book. BookShare doesn't have an arrangement with Amazon for the books
they digitally publish. If authors who self-publish want to make their books
available on BookShare, they have to give BookShare digital files of their
books.

I hope that makes sense. Best of scanning!

It is entirely legitimate. All you have to do is to enter the ISBN into the
search field at Amazon. Here is the Amazon product page:
https://www.amazon.com/Smarter-Sleep-Answers-Solutions-Healthier/dp/0692480579/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1509413099&sr=8-1&keywords=0692480579&dpID=51r51CfvjtL&preST=_SY291_BO1,204,203,200_QL40_&dpSrc=srch

Hello everybody:

I have been out of the loop for quite a while and have a question
given all the new guidelines.

I am working on a book that I am scanning in and do not want it to get
rejected because of the publisher.

I am wondering if the publisher was made up as this is a createspace project.

Although the ISBN's are legit and track back to Amazon and I know the
author is legit as he is my doctor.

The book I'm working on is:

Smarter Sleep: Real Answers. Science Based Solutions. Healthier Sleep.
Paperback – July 1, 2015

by Mark T. Brown MD (Author)

Paperback: 268 pages

Publisher: Old Wives Tales, Inc.; 1 edition (July 1, copyright 2015)

Language: English

ISBN-10: 0692480579

ISBN-13: 978-0692480571

Old Wives Tales, Inc. turns up nothing & Old Wives Tales,
Inc.+Mark+T.+Brown turns up his linkedin profile and other things.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks.
