Lissi,
I went and looked some more and found that I had added the entry to the jaws dictionary for word. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Estelnalissi" <airadil@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Dear Larry,

I'm sorry. I meant insert d. I didn't press alt d at all! Computer problems make me go weak in the knees as well as weak in the head. So, would you reread my message and imagine I wrote that I pressed insert d first which I really did?

Always with love,

Lissi

Dear Larry,

First, Thank you for answering.

I got a dialogue box when I pressed alt d.
All I could think to do was enter on the word Add.
Then I got a box which had a default. It said "Default one of eleven." and it was under the heading of Language. I pressed enter on default and got this message, "you must specify an expression to okay this dialogue." I guess I don't know where to specify whatever it is they want. I'm not sure where to put the backslash 013. I know this sounds lame, but I'd rather admit my lameness than continue looking high and low and forever for page breaks.

I hope I'm not beyond clarification.

Always with love,

Lissi

yes. Go into the dictionary (insert-d) and choose default. add the entry
\013
(backslash 013) to the dictionary and things should work.

Dear Booksharian Friends,

Recently I upgraded to JAWS nine point zero something something something, the upgrade after plain JAWS nine point oh. Now it no longer announces page breaks. Where it used to say Page Break, it now says blank.

Seeing if the page breaks are there is tedious, slow and dizzy making for me, at the very least. This is slowing me down. Has anyone had the same problem?

If nobody has ideas about this, I can reinstall JAWS nine point oh and hope that solves the problem. I'll also call JAWS tech help. I don't have much confidence in it because when I called for the first time in two years, they wanted to blame it all on Norton without delving in my problem at all, and this after my latest Norton upgrade had worked fine for 4 months without disturbing JAWS. I think computer maintenance is as ongoing and expensive and frustrating as car maintenance must be for people who own them. I like appliances that work for years without acting twisted, things like fans, refrigerators, radios and washing machines!

Thanks in advance,

Lissi
