Depending on what note-taking system you use, it might be easiest to write the ISBN number in whatever form you usually write personal notes for yourself, then when you get to the edit field for that number, just read it from your note and type it in from your note. That way, you won't have to wonder whether you pasted too much or not enough of the ISBN number in the edit field.
