Hi Deborah and everyone!

The control plus G keystroke works the same in Word 2010 also.

Thanks so much for this question John and your answer Deborah. I have wondered about this problem ever since I started proofreading in 2009, though I didn't understand what was going on, so couldn't think of the question to ask. I was annoyed by the problem that I only knew how to solve by closing and then reopening the document in Word 2000 and later.

Hi John,

Control plus pagedown will repeat a "find" if you have used the control plus f function already in that particular session of Word. It's done this in every version of Word I've used.
You can get around this by closing and re-opening your document.
Or, and this still works for me in Word 2007, try using control plus g to get to the "go to page" option. Type in any number and press enter. This seems to reset the control pagedown keystroke to its original function of going to the next page.
