I'm pretty sure I read some books of hers when I was young. The name sure
sounds familiar.

Judy! You mentioned Louisa May Alcott--does anyone remember the books she
wrote about her childhood? It's not Little Women, that I know. I just remember
the family moved around some, and her father was involved with some
experimental utopian communities. *smile*

She lived a grand 102 years, Constance Savery (1897-1999) and it looks like
she wrote 67 books:

  Some look very interesting!

I just proofread a book that I think a lot of other volunteers who are
working on fiction that was published pre-'60s would enjoy. It's a young adult
book, "The Reb and the Redcoats," by Constance Savery. The writing style
reminds me very much of Louisa May Alcott, or even the early Cherry Ames book.
I was pleasantly surprised, as I'd never heard of Constance Savery. This is a
definitely keeper. Has anyone else heard of this author, or have any plans to
scan any of her other books?
