No page numbers? That's very interesting, especially when volunteers may have to add them!

Another way the volunteer version will be superior is that it will have page numbers and page breaks. It has to have at least 90 percent of those in the print copy, or it gets rejected by Bookshare. PQ books usually do not have many page breaks or page numbers. Some of those I've seen have none at all. So a volunteer may work hard to ensure that their book meets page break and page number guidelines and still get their hard work replaced by a book that has none of either..

If you read the list Roger you will notice that some people think the volunteer submitted book may be superior to the PQ book because the volunteer submitted book contains descriptions of pictures which are not included in the PQ book.

If the publishers' electronic text files are used to set the type when they produce a print book and if we are expected to retain any errors in the print copies in our scans and proofreadings then how can a PQ book be of inferior quality to our efforts?
