I have tried my best with a book, but I need someone to take it, please. It is The Lovely Wanton by Constance Fecher. Larry Lumpkin scanned it and it is a delightful regency romance. I am sorry to do this, as the scan looks good. However, I need to go slower and get used to this new computer before attempting to proof anything. After all, you are an intelligent human being and you're not alone, especially if you happen to know people who can help you out when you're in a pinch. I'd help you out with that Regency romance but I'm in the middle of a project right now (fantasy novel, not Regency romance) or I'd take you up on it. How far along were you in the book and do you like her writing? Regards, Kim Friedman. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Sue Stevens Sent: Thursday, March 10, 2011 1:06 PM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Released a book Hello all, I have a new computer and am having quite a time. The problem arises when I wish to go to a specific place in Notepad, say, I wish Jaws to find Chapter Thirteen (both in upper case) and somehow be able to get to a specific place in the text file so I can compare text with that of the rtf document I'm working with. The only thing I can do is hold down the down arrow key in hopes of eventually reaching the text I want to look at. Is there an easier way of navigating through Notepad so I can get to where I wish to be or is this not something Notepad can deal with? Press control plus f to open the find dialogue in notepad or wordpad. You are sitting in an edit box. Type the text you'd like to find. If you typed the text and don't know whether you want to find upper or lower case you can hit enter. If you are certain of whether the text you're searching for is in upper or lower case letters, tab until you see the option for "case sensitivity" and make sure that is checked so that the letters will be searched for if they are either upper or lower case depending upon what you typed. Tab to "ok" and hit enter You will be taken to the first instance of the occurrence of the text for which you searched. Hit escape to dismiss the dialogue and you can look around to see the text. Hope that helps.
