Soft hyphens are a function of your software. They aren't actually in the file but appear on your screen and will be sent to your printer when you print. They're created in accordance with your page setup and the margins. If you're using MS Word, I believe you can turn off the feature. Try going to the Format Menu Alt-o, Paragraph Settings p, and under Line & Page Breaks find "Don't Hyphenate" and check the box.
