Sue, I can't get much from Amazon's peek. Unfortunately, it is much easier to find information with portions of text rather than numbers. I did get the first few chapters of Part I: Page 3: 1 - "She came out of the fog, her face painted half-white," Page 4: 2 - "Certain kinds of people have always got away" Page 8: 3 - "Shall I be Mother?" Page 10: 4 - "It was the Wakeman who found her." Page 11: 5 - "Detective Inspector Ian Harkins of the Pitlochary C.I.D." The table of contents page shows only the Parts (I, II, III...) so I am assuming there are other Chapter 1's in the book. Also, my library system does not have a copy. Your best option is to work with someone who has the printed copy. Sorry, Pam ________________________________ From: Sue Stevens <siss52@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Mon, May 16, 2011 2:20:25 AM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Help needed, please! Hi All, I need some special help with a book scanned by Jen. She returned it to the library, and the chapter headings didn’t scan well. The book is “The Old Fox Deceive’d” by Martha Grimes. What I would need is the page numbers where the chapters begin, and just a few words on those pages so I would know for sure where they start. Her copy was a large type copy from Thorndike, but if I had the chapter beginnings I could find the corresponding page numbers in the scan. She did a good job, and that is the only problem. Can someone please help me with this? My e-mail address is: siss52@xxxxxxxxxxxx Thanks in advance for any help. Kind regards, Sue S.
