I don't know, then, Ernie. I use JAWS as well, but this is a Windows thing,
not a JAWS thing. Until it knows what to do with the file, the download dialog
box should remain open until the file is either saved or opened at its current
location, which would be on the Bookshare system in this case. When the Save
or Open option comes up, I select Save, then I get another dialog box with the
file name, where you want to save it, the file type, Save or Cancel. I select
Save at that point, after checking to make sure where the file is going. I do
not know why it is not working the same way for you. this is a routine dialog
box, which I have used many times on other sites. I will try to think of
something, but really Jake, Gerald or Pratik - and perhaps others here - would
be more qualified to help you with this. It may perhaps involve a Windows
setting which automatically downloads the file to a preset location without
asking you. But this should be modifiable.

If I think of anything, I will let you know.

Are you still interested in validating the two Eddings books missing from The
Malloreon? I should have them soon, as in early next week.

  Evan,

Jaws doesn't give me a chance. It just zips across the dialog box.

And Shelley, Thanks much. I try and do housekeeping on a regular basis.

  Peace,
  Ernie

Hey, Ernie, are you selecting Save instead of Open? When I download a
book, I select Save, it takes a few seconds, then dings and the dialog closes.
Are you selecting Save?

      Hi Folks,

For those who keer, I'm still typing at a rate of about -20 words a day.

However, I have a problem and need some help with it. Something between
the site and my computer is not allowing me to down-load coppyrighted books.

When I try, the machine goes through the down-load dialog with no stops
till it comes to "How would you like windows to open this file?"

Anybody have any idears as to what's going on? Any suggestions would be
appreciated.

Evan, I'm almost through with "Transcention," and, it ain't bad.

And, Amy, Please write me a critique on my paragraphing. Bet it's aweful.

      Peace,
      Ernie
