Hey Lin,
That's something to agree with here and all of the explanations are
extremely helpful! As a first time proof reader any help is appreciated and
grateful for those of us who are just starting out with this process of
scanning or proof reading. Thanks for all the examples and support here from
everyone who's been helping me with my first and second book smiles! Have a

Hi Kristin,
That is what you want, is page numbers with nothing else on the
line. Please don't remove them. The page numbers are important!
Your page should be formatted like this:
Page break
Blank Line
Page number
Blank line
Text on the page
Blank line
Next page break.
Or, if page numbers appear at the bottom and you don't want to move them,
the page should look like this:
Page break
Blank line
Text on the page
Blank line
Page Number
Blank line
Next page break.
And finally, no matter where the page numbers appear elsewhere in the book,
pages containing chapter headings should be formatted like this:
Page break
Blank line
Page number
Blank line
Chapter title or heading
Blank line
Text on the page
Blank line
Next page break.

Hey everyone!
I am currently proof reading Death in Paradise by Carolyn Hart. Is it
natural for page numbers to appear without text next to it? That's what I'm
experiencing here in this novel and I just wanted your opinions on it. Right
now I'm removing them however if they need to be left alone then I will
reenter them. If anyone has any suggestions then I'd greatly appreciate any
help with this stuff. Thanks a bunch for all of your support and help with
this project of proof reading this book. Hopefully everyone is having a
great day!
