Most books I've seen do not have spaces between the em dash and the words before and after it. So I leave them with no spaces.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Handling the M Dash

In the past we were asked to replace the M dash with a double hyphen. As I understand it the Bookshare tools do that now so it is not necessary to eliminate them. However, I am wondering something. If there is no space before nor after the M dash, that is, if the two words that the M dash separates become one long word with the M dash in the middle of it with no spaces, what should we do? Do we insert the spaces or just leave it like that?
