What a beautiful introduction, Brenda! Welcome to the land of chaos and deranged perfectionists!! (big smile) Sue S. From: Brenda Hendricksen Sent: Monday, September 30, 2013 1:44 PM To: bksvol-discuss Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Great to Meet You! Hello Bookshare Volunteers, Thank you all for your warm welcome! I’m happy to be here and feel honored to be included in the Bookshare volunteer community! When I came for my first interview here at Benetech, I learned that there are more than 15 million print-disabled individuals in the United States alone. In further conversations, I learned that you, our volunteers, provided the inspiration, as well as the bricks and mortar, for what is now the world’s largest collection of digital books for people with print disabilities! You have changed lives. With your continued efforts, and the growing advocacy for accessibility, Bookshare’s potential future impact is enormous! I hope to have the opportunity to get to know each and every one of you. Madeleine and I look forward to learning more about your work and about how we can best support your efforts. Above all, we are looking forward to seeing our volunteer community, which you have all helped to establish, continue to grow in numbers and impact. As always, please feel free to contact Madeleine or me with any questions, concerns, ideas, or thoughts you wish to share. Again, thanks for all you do on behalf of individuals with print disabilities! Warm regards, Brenda Brenda Hendricksen Volunteer Program Manager 480 S.
