Those Outlook Express emails are .dbx files. The folders that contain them are buried pretty deeply in the directory structure, and they have long names with lots of letters and numbers in them. I used to know more details about that, but I haven't had an XP system for over three years. I think a little Googling will show where they can be found and how they can be retrieved manually, but if you can import them using your current email program, that will certainly be easier.

I managed to get into my old hard drive this evening. Thank you again Mike for the hard drive enclosure. It arrived today. I was able to recover the book I was working on. At least I think I recovered it. As of yet I am unable to open it. I will be working on getting Open Book 9 and I hope I will be able to open it then. I don't seem to be able to find my emails though. After poking around for some time I did find what seems to be a folder labeled with the same label name I used in Outlook Express where they should be, but I am unable to open that either. When I try it mentions something about being a backup folder and wants me to check on line for a program that will open it. I am not sure that it is even the folder I want because it is called a backup folder. I thought I would be able to just open it and read my stored emails. I expected not to be able to read the scanned books I had because they are all in ark format and I suppose I will need a working copy of Open Book to read those, but I don't know what the problem with the emails might be.
