I think the problem is Windows 7 orphaned Outlook Express and went to Windows 
Live Mail and they may handle their databases differently, although I thought 
you could export from Outlook and import to Mail Live.  I regret to say I have 
not followed closely, but if the old drive is intact, maybe you can boot from 
it 
to actually run the old programs to tie up loose ends.
