Cindy is new to bookshare and wants to help out. I am sending this from another list in case someone can help her.

Dear Robert,

I went and looked and saw where I could sign up to be a volunteer, but saw
no place to ask for the way to sign up for the book share lists. I feel
strange about volunteering when I haven't mastered my scanner or how to use
book share with my braille note. I thought I should be more competent before
volunteering.

I also didn't see a way to contact Marissa directly.

How do I get links for the lists, or do I need to volunteer first to access
them?

Thanks for your prompt answer. You know your stuff and are very generous to
educate others.

Cindy, go to the bookshare web site and look at the vol link and contact
Marissa and she will put on the list for vol. Also there are two lists,
one
is a discussion list and the other is the vol list and yes Kelley and some
others that use brille can help you with the brf files. In fact, there are
some on this list as well i think.

Dear Readers,

Having just joined Book Share, I still have loads of questions. Like,
whether I can download a book to my Braille Note, and if in doing so, it
will become an audio book, or can be translated to braille.

Does anyone know of a list for book share readers with enough blind
members
to help beginners with technical questions?

I'm also interested in volunteering and would like to know the link to
join
the Book share Volunteer lists, too. My house is insulated with print
books.
I'm hoping some Book Share readers may be interested in some of my
poetry,
Tolkien analysis, Celtic everything, mystery and books on other topics.
I've
collected them forever without being able to read them, so I'm very
motivated to scan and share them.

Oh, yes, and I don't think any of you wrote to tell me how to spell
brailled. I spoke to a friend who is on this list who knows everything
about
everything. She said the Outlook Express spell checker is wrong in
spelling
brailled with one l. I wanted to pass on the correct spelling, b r a i l
l
e
d so you won't be misled by your spell checkers.

Always With Love,

Estelnalissi - Cindy
