Hi everybody,I thought this might interest proofers using speech. I might try it with a demo myself. If anyone has tried this, I'd be interested in your thoughts. Email me off list if it's easier.

I'm generally a fast synthesizer reader but today installed the Real Speak Voice for Jaws ten. I do a lot of proof reading with e-novels and booklets and articles I write and at least two or three of the Real Speak voices are really helpful in hearing a book with the proper inflection for the properly applied punctuation. It also assists in picking up words that need a D or S or when I've left off an A L or anything of that nature. No, the faster you go, the more difficult it is upon which to focus. But, as I said, I like it for proof reading Word documents or reading an e-text. So my life has just gotten easier. There is no pitch control so the pitch doesn't rise when spelling a capitalized word. With jaws, on the other hand, you can tap the num pad #5 key twice and it will speak the phonetic word for that letter.Phil. _______________________________________________ Blindad mailing list Blindad@xxxxxxxxxxxxxhttp://babel-fish.us/mailman/listinfo/blindad_babel-fish.us
