he does like to a lot of play on words, and this particular Quean is quite a nasty bit of work, so perhaps he was intending it in that sense.
The books aren't really intended for one particular audience they are like the harry Potter books written for everyone to enjoy.

Hi all, Original message:Hi,I just put Brian Jacques' latest book, The Sable Quean, into the collection. It's at http://www.bookshare.org/browse/book/165847 <http://www.bookshare.org/browse/book/165847>. Since it's not on the new books list or searchable (see my previous email), I thought I'd send everyone the URL.And one more thing: Before everyone starts screaming at me that the title is misspelled, no, really really it's The Sable Quean, not Queen. No, I don't know why Jacques misspelled Queen, he just did.Well, I went a-looking on google, and discovered that there is a definition for "quean". Dunnow if that is the word Jacques meant when he wrote this children's book, though. A "quean" is a street woman, a hmmm, whore. Interesting, why would Jacques use such a word? Guess I'll have to download the book and find out. Interesting!Ann P. -- Ann K.
