Hi, Jamie, Bookshare is weird because if you're conducting a simple search, you have to enter the author's name first name first and last name last. Example, if you wrote a book and it got into the Bookshare collection, I couldn't enter your name as "Yates, Jamie", I'd have to search for your book by entering "Jamie Yates". It seems that's the way Bookshare still does things. I haven't had any difficulty conducting simple searches using this method. Maybe what I'm saying is something you know already and you may have tried this. I don't know. Now, of course, when you are browsing to see what's in the collection, Authors' names are entered for the most part last name first followed by the first name, etc. I don't know what the engineers at Bookshare are going to do about that one. Good luck to you on this one, regards, Kim. _____ From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jamie Yates, CPhT Sent: Saturday, August 08, 2009 4:09 PM To: Bookshare Volunteers; Carrie Karnos Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Five Little Monkeys Bake a Birthday Cake Earlier today I submitted Five Little Monkeys Bake a Birthday Cake by Eileen Christelow. Before I submitted it I checked under Christelow for the author's name and Five Little Monkeys and I could not find this title in the collection. I see the proofreader rejected it because it is already in the collection. Can someone help me figure out what I am doing wrong with search (I am having a horrible time lately with search) that I still cannot find this book in the collection? I also searched on Birthday Cake and Eileen and I still can't find the book. -- Jamie in Michigan Currently Reading: Monkey Business by Sarah Mlynowski See everything I've read this year at: www.michrxtech.com/books.html __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4318 (20090808) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com
