Hi, Melissa and Mayrie. I had to go in to My Computer, enter the program files folder, enter the Accessories folder and I found WordPad. It wasn't on my Start menu. It now resides on my desktop. Regards and thanks to Debby Franson and you both for helping me out. I've written down the procedure so I don't forget. Regards, Kim. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Mayrie ReNae Sent: Saturday, June 19, 2010 5:27 AM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Finding WordPad and putting it on my desktop Hi Kim, If you press the windows key, and then the letter r, then type wordpad, the program should run. And, as Melissa said, if you go into accessories under programs, you can then hit the letter w until you hear "wordpad" spoken and open it there, or continue with Melissa's instructions for how to create a desktop shortcut. Sometimes up arrowing in your list of programs won't work as you think it should, because, unlike your documents, programs listed in your start menu do not automatically get reordered alphabetically when you add new ones, but sometimes appear to remain in order of addition to your computer. So, maybe try start button, programs, accessories, and then hitting w until you hear wordpad spoken, then hit enter to open it, or use the applications key as Melissa said to create the desktop shortcut. Hope that works! How do I go about doing this as it doesn't seem to be in my program files or if it is, it's a mystery to me where it's lurking. I'm sure I have it, it's locating the little bugger that has me stymied. Can you help? Regards, Kim, slightly confused. __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 5209 (20100619) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com To unsubscribe from this list send a blank Email to bksvol-discuss-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx put the word 'unsubscribe' by itself in the subject line.
