We use a high-speed Canon in house, so I'm not sure what flatbed
suggestions to offer.

I have been considering buying a flatbed scanner for quite awhile. I
would be interested in knowing what make and model would be most useful
for bookshare applications. I have a scanner that is part of a
multifunction brother machine, but it is not flatbed.
