Hi everyone,

Our product manager for the Diagram Center (a collaborative effort including
Benetech, which developed the open-source, on-line Poet image description tool)
is seeking blind/VI volunteers to do some accessibility testing (read below) of
the Diagram community site. If you are interested, please follow the
instructions outlined in Anh Bui's email below and contact her or myself with
input and/or questions and comments. Thank you.

Alisa

Subject: please test the new DIAGRAM community site

Hi Alisa,

Do you have any visually-impaired volunteers who would be willing to give the
new DIAGRAM community site (http://blog.diagramcenter.org) a 5-10 minute test
run? I have tried to build it on the same template as the Bookshare blog in the
hopes that it will be as accessible as possible. But there are differences,
including the fact that you have to register and log in to comment. Basically I
need someone to:

  1. Read a couple of posts without logging in.
  2. Register for an account using their email address.
  3. Login and Leave a Comment on a post.
  4. Browse posts from April and comment on one of those.
If there is someone who is willing to do even more testing, then I will grant
them rights to post a new blog entry and see DIAGRAM-only content. In that
case, I'd like them to:

  1. Login.
  2. "Leave a Comment" specifically on a post in the "DIAGRAM Only" category.
These are labeled at the bottom of each post with a "from <arrow>" label.
  3. Go to the Dashboard or use the "New" drop down menu to add a new Post.If
they use the Dashboard, they'll need to go to the "Posts" menu option and click
on the "Add New" link that flys out.
  4. Use the text input boxes to give the post a title and write a paragraph.
  5. Check the "DIAGRAM Only" category for the post
  6. "Publish" the post or save it as a Draft.

Many thanks!
