Vanessa seems more comfortable issuing orders than taking ownership of
the problem. She posts an illiterate response and fails to apologize.
Yes, Vanessa has the ability to contact all volunteers, as Bookshare
sends all volunteers a newsletter by e-mail.
However, I believe few will respect her as she just issues orders
rather than delivers the support necessary to accomplish the work
arounds she suggests.

discussion list, do you have a way to send an update email to all
volunteers so they understand what is going on and what you are asking
volunteers to do regarding checking out books until the problem is fixed?
Also, many volunteers have no idea how to check a book's history page.
It would be helpful to include instructions on how to do that and how to
find a volunteer's email address on it as well. The history page isn't
particularly easy to use, obvious, or accessible for finding another
volunteer's email information.
