Hi Valerie,
In the case of the elipsis, I follow the rules for print. That is
not putting a space between the final letter of a word, and the first dot of
the elipsis. This is not how the braille transcription manual describes how
to represent this in braille, but I have personally chosen to follow the
print rules, as they will be used more widely among bookshare patrons,.
And, in years gone by, the braille transcription did not change the rule.
Just my opinion though.
And, in case you're wondering, in the case of the em dash, or double
hyphen, I have chosen to follow the braille rule of not putting a space
either before or after the em dash (double hyphen), because this is not a
hard and fast rule in print, but an optional choice, so I've opted to allow
this always to be represented accurately in braille.
Again, just my personal practise.

Not knocking your Braille read, but as a sighted reader, I have always seen
an ellipsis with no space before and a space after.
To everyone else, are we to add spaces before and after ellipses for
BookShare? I know with things like em-dash replacements, there are no
spaces around double hyphens... how are ellipses to be handled in
submissions?
