This argument seems to rear its ugly head again and again. We certainly
understand the limitation of the current conversion process. However there
is certainly the possibility that These books will be reprocessed at some
point from the original source (i.e., RTF) to Braille and DAISY with the
formatting changes intact. So, there's no reason why formatting (including
font size and attributes) should not be preserved. I for one, do appreciate
Cindy's and other volunteers' efforts to preserve as much of the formatting
as they can. So please keep on doing what you have been doing.

Regards,

Pratik

That's interesting information, too. But re your last
sentence, I think you should do what makes you
conmfortable in your own reading. It's not necessary
to adjust just because the different fonts are there.
I've noticed that in some sentences the flow of the
sentence causes a word to be emphasized whether it is
italicised or not. In some of my validations, it's
that emphasis that I mentally hear in my reading that
cause me to look at the book to see if the word is in
italics, and it is. But it isn't really necessary,
except I suppose the author doesn't want to take any
chances that a reader might not mentally hear it that
way.
