Since any book can be use in college these days, we'd better get to the concept 
of No unimportant book.
I've had courses where The Flame and the Flower and The Long Goodbye were both 
used, as well as one which required reading of 34 SF books.

  Page breaks are there as K1000 handles those properly.  What you don't 
  know is the actual page number in the book itself; but rather the page in 
  the book as K1000 handles it.
  Of course, if you have a table of contents, proper chapter headings 
  preserved, and a few at random page numbers left, you can, more or less, 
  recreate things.
  This is why I am lobbying for some form of a raw file to be included in 
  the Daisy bundle so that it is easier to undo the damage or gain the 
  needed info if and when this is necessary.
  I probably wouldn't bother when reading the latest Nora Roberts but I 
  might in a reference book.
