Chimera. First syllable is pronounced like the Greek letter chi, that is, the
K sound followed by the long I. The second syllable sounds like a female
horse, mare. The third syllable is the sound your doctor tells you to make
when he examines your tonsils, ah.

Hi Ann,

Well, I'm not sure how to pronounce chimera, so come on and tell me how to pronounce it phonetically. (smile)

Hi all,

Yes, my screen reader does seem to know about Greek Root Words in
English. It pronounces it correctly.

As for why the word came up in discussion? It happened during the ten
years of my life when I was an ardent player of D&D. Our party was
about to face a chimera. We were discussing just what our strategy should be.
