Thanks so much Deborah. I was going crazy trying to figure this out. I’ll
keep it for future reference.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Converting tables to text. (Need a favor)
Hi Shirley,
I don't know what version of Word you're using, but these instructions should
work for Word 2010 through 2016.
You first need to select the table you want converted to text. While your
cursor is somewhere in the table, go to the Layout Tab, then tab once to the
Select submenu. Press the down arrow until you hear Table and press enter. You
can also get here by using the key sequence alt+j,l,k,t.
**Once the table is selected it's important that you don't press any other
cursor key or you'll unselect the table. With Jaws, I don't hear an
announcement that the table has been selected.
With the table selected, go back to the Layout tab and tab a million times
until you get to the Convert to Text button. Press enter. Or you can use the
key sequence alt+j,l,v.
Now you'll be asked how you want to separate the text from the table. Press the
down arrow to choose between the options (tab, comma, paragraph mark, etc). I
usually choose the Tab, but it's your choice. You're going to remove them
anyway after the table has been converted.
Now you're left with a paragraph of text separated by whatever you chose in the
last step. Since you're working on a Table of contents, you'll need to remove
these separation characters and put the chapter titles and page numbers on
their own lines as usual in a table of contents.
I hope this works for you. If not, I'd be willing to convert it for you.
Deborah

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Converting tables to text. (Need a favor)
Hi Everybody,
I’m supposed to convert this table of contents page from a table to text. I’ve
looked through the ribbons in Word and have googled about this and haven’t been
able to figure out how to do it. If I send the page to someone, could they do
it please. It is driving me crazy trying to find the answer. Thanks in advance
for any help out there.
