Hi Patty,
If I remember correctly, you're an Openbook user. Maybe if you describe the
types of errors you're finding in your scans, fellow Openbook users can give
you some pointers on settings. As others have said, we were all beginners when
we started. Getting good scans get easier with practice--you start learning how
best to deal with different formats, different kinds of paper etc.
