[bksvol-discuss] Can a submitter know who has their book?

If I could have known who was proofreading the book I submitted, I would
have contacted that person directly, and saved all this foofurrah.
Is there a way for a submitter to know who has their book? Once it's
taken, the book isn't on the checkout list, so is there some other way to
get to the history section, and thus the name and email of the proofer?
If not, should there be?
