I just read "The Man Who Walked Between the Towers, and was wishing there
was more. I mean, there would be some print where the illustrations are
wouldn't there? I understand pages like that do not scan well, but at least
what is there woulld give blind parents and blind children an idea of what
the group is talking about.

I, of course, cannot hear movies anymore so when a new one comes out I look
for a review on the Internet so I can talk with my friends about it.

Some of the Caldecott story lines are actually really good.

And it is for illustrations, and however, plot.

The Newbery is for older students and for novels. the Caldecott is for
picture books.

I have done a couple that had actually great plots.

So... I think it is.

A lot of these stories are classics, I read them in classes when I was
younger and got a lot out of them without being able to see the pictures.

The vision must be followed by the venture. It is not enough to
stare up the steps - we must step up the stairs.

The Caldecott Medal is awarded " the artist who had
created the most distinguished picture book of the
year." In some cases, I discovered as I did some
research to be sure I was correct, a book is nominated
for both the Caldecott and the Newbery, and then the
committees decide inder whch category to place it.

Since it is the illustrations and not the story for
which the book wins the award, and illustrations can
only be described and not, as far as I know, actually
included in books in the bookshare collection, is it
really worthwhile to make a special effort to have
them in the collection?
