(smile) Thanks for your encouragement, Susan. I do enjoy proofing, but need to know when I have a soft page break or hard page break. In earlier versions, nothing was displayed if there was a soft page break, but I sawthe words page break if there was a hard page break.

Well, Sue, we think it's important and don't quite understand why JAWS no longer will enable you to do it! Please don't abandon proofing though!

Thanks, Debby. I junked by Word 2002 because it wouldn't work on this computer. Larry Lumpkin is working on this, contacting Freedom Scientific, so maybe they will work something out. If they do come up with a solution, Larry will let me know what to do. It is really kind of him to try to get this solved.

Hi Sue!

Thanks for posting. How thoughtless on Freedom Scientific's part. I don't see their logic in removing such an important feature. I hope you have an earlier version of Word to go back to or can upgrade JAWS to maybe have that feature back.

Hi all,

In reference to my question the other day about how to get Jaws to
display the words “page break” on my Braille display, I found out
from Freedom Scientific tech support that Jaws 12 will not display
those words in Braille in Word 2010. I thank all of you who were
concerned about this, and wanted to post this so everyone would know
that, unlike in earlier versions of Word and Jaws, this feature has been removed.
