[bksvol-discuss] Books with problems--what to do

Hi, Devorah.

I'm not sure if your question refers to when
validating or downloading from the collection, or
exactly to what Curtis is referring, either.

The Comments section on page two of the upload is to
notify the administrator if there's something wrong
with the book, why it's being rejected, why the
validator is changing the rating, etc.

I'm not sure if newbies know that comments written
there aren't seen by readers of the book. That's why
when I have comments I want the reader to see, e.g.,
that the spelling and punctuation are English rather
than American, or that there is some swearing and
profanity or sex (but not enough that I rated the book
Adult) I put it in the long synopses.

If the book s downloaded from the collection with
missing pages or a lot of errors, it should be
rescanned and a BSO submitted. It sure would be a lot
easier, imho, if it were put back on the download list
for someone like me to fix, and this was done "in the
old days." For some reason I don't understand, the PWB
(powers that be) think it takes less time and effort
to rescan the book.

I really don't understand how having two people put in
time and effort on a book to perfect it saves time
over having one person do it. I wish some of you
engineers or any of you time management people could
explain that to me. smile

The other problem is that the books don't get
rescanned very rapidly. Has anyone looked at Jake's
list? Or the Wish List (24 listed, of which two are
being rescanned).
