I just love funny scannos. The Martian is supposed to be the french word for mama, Maman. In the next few pages, this scanno appeared several more times to humorous effect! hahehehahah! Spell check and rank spelling are nearly indispensable tools, but nothing beats a combination of spell checking and proofreading. For fun, I keep a list of unusual scannos that have appeared in books I'm validating which are true words so a spell checker wouldn't point them out. Here are some other examples.
