I think the idea may be that since the page number will change, they wouldn't
be removed but I personally wouldn't trust that. The other problem is that
there are far too often differences in the scanner's reading of page headers so
that many of them will be missed by the stripper. Because I read the book I am
scanning, I delete headers as I go which really takes very little time.
