The word splitting problem may only be with this book. Have you scanned any
other books and had this word splitting happen?

Yes there were, and it really annoyed me. And I wonder if it is a sign that
my scanner is dying.
As I haven't had that problem before. I am using fine reader 7 so can't figure out why it would be acting in that way.
Sigh.
Perhaps I may be in the market for a new scanner soon.
Anyone got a 1660 Epson they are willing to part with?
Is a good story though.
